Hi! I'm broadly interested in:
- Simplicity and beauty
 - Understanding fundamental systems, particularly the outer world (physics) and the inner world (artificial or biological minds)
 - Problem-solving by hacking
 - Pathological visualisation
 - Algebraic topology, differential geometry, complex analysis, enumerative combinatorics and operators
 - Topological quantum field theories and high-energy physics
 - Solving quantum gravity with artificial scientists
 - Computational models of minds and cells
 - Modernist literature, especially The Gift and everything Nabokov wrote before Ada
 - David Foster Wallace's essays (especially on tennis and E Unibus Pluram)
 - Samurai Champloo and Vagabond
 - Bach's fugues
 - Decreasing pDoom
 - Shigaraki pottery
 - Rock gardens
 - Rinzai Zen

The main reason I built this website is to have an archive - with propely formatted LaTeX - of things I care about, and therefore try to think about. The hope is that if I write down every tiny sliver of genius that ever pops into my head, I'll eventually have ideas I feel proud of. In this sense I'm also influenced by David Lynch, who said that if you don't write down a good idea, you get a 'real yearning to blow your brains out'. I want to use my time on Earth to learn as much as I can. If you think we'll get along or you want to talk to me, feel free to email me.
